Shedeur Sanders of the Cleveland Browns has been caught up in plenty recently. After falling in the draft in ways that nobody expected, Sanders was also cited for two speeding tickets. It’s an unfortunate situation for the young man, but it’s also important to recognize that he’s just that. Sanders is a young kid with fast cars, and unfortunately, people make mistakes when they drive them. He isn’t the first one, and he certainly won’t be the last.
However, because the Browns’ quarterback has the status he does, especially with his father, Deion Sanders, many like to discuss it in a much different light than they would if it were a different athlete. That includes Skip Bayless, who recently went on another rant about Sanders, stating that he’ll be back with his father if he doesn’t figure his stuff out.
âShedeur, you gotta be driven, man. This is it. This is your shot. Itâs gonna come and itâll go. I believe in you with all my heart and soul. Youâre a tough young man. You took so much punishment over the last two years, so much punishment,â Bayless said.
âYou showed me real mental and physical toughness. You have big-time ability and command of that position. Deadly accurate, plenty of arm, clutch. You got the whole package, Shedeur. Think. Make some, at least, mental signs. You just canât, you canât do that, or youâre gonna wind up back home with your dad. Youâre better than that.â
Can Sanders Prevent Putting Himself in Negative Situations?
Sanders does have to improve off the field, and there’s certainly no reason for him to be doing things like that. Hopefully, the Cleveland Browns will sit him down, or already have, and have spoken with him about this.Â
He’s better than speeding multiple times in a few-week span, and something he simply just has to learn from.Â
However, some have posed the idea that he already knew this, including Mike Florio. He noted that it’s a lack of awareness on his part, and that he shouldâve stopped after the first one.
âShedeur Sanders is as deep into the public eye as you can be,â Florio said, per SN. âIt just speaks to a lack of awareness. You have to understand how your behavior is going to result in consequences. After everything he’s been through, you would think he would’ve figured it out by now. One, fine; two, come on, man.â
How Has Sanders Behaved Behind the Scenes?
While Sanders has continued to be a negative in the spotlight, according to many, others have suggested that he’s been great with the Cleveland Browns.Â
In his defense, Sanders hasn’t had any problems off the field outside of these speeding tickets. He seems like a good young man and someone who simply just wants to play football and have fun.Â
Because he wears big chains and expensive watches doesn’t mean that he’s cocky, arrogant, or anything else, he just likes to have fun, similar to many of his teammates on the Browns.
And according to his teammates, Sanders has been great in the Browns building, with Myles Garrett saying that everybody loves him, and he’s done what he’s needed to do early on.
âI think everyone was surprised to see him go to the fifth round, but heâs come to camp and OTAs with a great attitude. Heâs a hard-working guy, he has a great head on his shoulders. And, you know, heâs always positive, always optimistic, always keeps a smile on his face, and you like going to work with people who have that kind of attitude,â Garrett said.
