The Golden State Warriors might be old, but there’s no writing them off. After all, they are led by Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler, three Hall of Fame talents, and brought in Al Horford this summer, who may also have a spot in Springfield.
Often overlooked is the quality role players Golden State boasts. Brandin Podziemski, Gary Payton II, Quinten Post, and Moses Moody are all quality players.
Last offseason, in an effort to bolster their offense, the Warriors added Buddy Hield, one of the best shooters in the NBA.
He averaged 11.1 points on 37% shooting from deep last season and is ready to take his game to the next level.

Buddy Hield Wants to Win
Hield is a great shooter, but he’s never really been considered a winner. During stints with the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, and Philadelphia 76ers, he never found much postseason success.
Last year, in nine postseason appearances, he scored 12.5 points and improved his shooting to 42.9% from deep. After finding the hot hand, he gained momentum over the summer.
“I’m saying this humbly, but I think this was probably the best summer I’ve probably shot,” said Hield at Warriors’ media day on September 29. “I can’t remember when I had one bad day shooting the ball. I felt so confident, I couldn’t wait to get back to that moment because of how focused and driven I was just to taste the playoff again, because I know that if we had everybody healthy, we’d never know what the outcome would be.”
In the playoffs, Curry was injured against the Minnesota Timberwolves and missed the final four games, causing Golden State to head home early.
Golden State Warriors Are Contenders
The Denver Nuggets added Cam Johnson. The Houston Rockets added Kevin Durant. The Oklahoma City Thunder will remain a juggernaut, and the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs are only getting better.
It’s easy to count the Warriors out, although when they’re healthy, they are one of the very best teams in the NBA.
Hield is not a superstar on their team, but he knows his role. The rest of the roster is bought in, as well. If they do their jobs, Golden State will make the playoffs and be a tough team to beat.
Boasting stars on both ends of the floor, the Warriors can compete with the best of them and could shock the world by going on a deep run. Curry has a better supporting cast than he did in 2022. On top of that, Hield knows that anyone can get hot, putting the Warriors over the top.
