The Ghanaian winger scored seven goals and provided 13 assists during his season-long-loan, including a memorable hat-trick against promotion rivals Southampton in April.

Meanwhile, Cooper is closing in on Atalanta centre-back Caleb Okoli.

Reports in Italy claim the Foxes have agreed a £12.7m deal to sign the 22-year-old defender with his arrival imminent.

The 14-times-capped Italy Under-21 international spent last season on loan at Frosinone.

But he could not prevent the Serie A strugglers being relegated.

However, Okoli is highly-rated and impressed during his 34 appearances for the Serie A whipping boys.

Okoli has made 17 top team appearances for Atalanta – last season’s Uefa Europa League winners.

He has also spent time on loan at SPAL and Cremonese.

Cooper likes the fact the defender is two-footed and can play on either the right or left side of defence.
