Taylor Swift could be down to her final game watching Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs live.
Kelce is set to take the field with his teammates on Christmas night, playing the Denver Broncos in a game that has little meaning for the Chiefs. They have already fallen out of playoff contention and are missing both of their top two quarterbacks, but the game could represent something very important — the last time Kelce takes the field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Taylor Swift Could Be Attending Final Game
Swift is expected to attend the Chiefs game on Christmas, as she did last season when Kelce helped the team clinch the No. 1 overall seed in the playoffs. Swift has changed her attendance habits in the last two seasons, skipping out on road games due to reported concerns with security.
Swift has been at all of Kansas City’s home games this season, with a report from People magazine before the season saying she wanted to take advantage of her lighter schedule now that the Eras Tour is in the rear view.
âTaylor is really looking forward to the upcoming NFL season,â a source told the outlet. âNot just because she loves supporting Travis, but because for the first full season since they started dating, sheâs not juggling a packed tour schedule.
âThis fall will be completely different,â the insider added. âItâs the first season where sheâs not constantly flying back and forth or working around an entire touring calendar.â
The Chiefs don’t have anything on the line for their Christmas night game and will be down to third quarterback Chris Oladokun after Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew suffered season-ending injuries.
If Kelce does head off to retirement, Swift could change her attendance habits to take in his final game. The Chiefs play the Las Vegas Raiders in the season finale.
Travis Kelce Pushed Aside Retirement Rumors
Kelce has pushed aside talk of retirement, not committing to what he will do after the conclusion of the season. He has also avoided reporters after games, talking later in the week and discussing his career a bit on the “New Heights” podcast with his brother.
âIâd rather keep the focus of the media and everything on this team right now,â Kelce said after the team was eliminated from playoff contention with a Week 15 loss. âAll the conversations I have with the team and everything moving forward will be with them. I think itâs a unique time in my life. Unfortunately, Iâve got three games left, and I know when the season ends this year.â
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has also shied away from Kelce’s future, saying he’s not privvy to that information but taking the chance to praise his contributions both on and off the field.
âI think his numbers and personality and the person, I think, speak for themselves. Heâs a phenomenal person. Heâs great for the community (and) has been great for the community. Heâs everything you want from a player representing an organization,â Reid said.
