It’s a bittersweet time for Travis Kelce and Kansas City Chiefs, and Taylor Swift is standing by her man’s side as he deals with not only the reality of the Chiefs being out of the postseason but also as he struggles with his retirement decision. On Sunday, December 21, the Chiefs had their first game after being eliminated from playoff contention, and unfortunately, it was a rough one, with the Tennessee Titans taking it, with a 26-9 final score.
But, life is about more than football. Of course, for Kelce and now Swift, football is a huge part of their lives, but it can’t be everything. The two are planning a wedding and expected to tie the knot in 2026. Also, both Kelce and Swift actively give back and donate to charity organizations.
Swift also released her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on October 3, and the album has done very well for her and her pocketbook.
In Billboard magazine’s year-end music review, reporter Gary Trust mentions Swift first as someone who “rewrote the mark for the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 among soloists” with 15. He also notes that she scored “the honor with the debut of her latest smash LP, ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ which launched with more than 4 million equivalent album units earned in the United States in its first week, according to data tracker Luminate.”
Taylor Swift Decides to Give Back Amid Kansas City Chiefs Christmas Game
So, Swift has a bit more change in her pocket following the release of “The Life of a Showgirl,” and she’s giving back. According to a Tuesday, December 23, press release from the American Heart Association, Swift has made the decision to donate $1 million to the organization in honor of her father, Scott Swift, whose has a heart condition.
“Taylor Swift’s remarkable generosity will create lasting change far beyond its financial value,
Nancy Brown, chief executive officer of the American Heart Association, said in a statement. “Her family’s experience with cardiovascular disease is all too common, affecting nearly half of American adults.”
Brown added of Swift and her contribution, “Her commitment to supporting her father will make so many others aware of the need to take their own heart health seriously, strengthen prevention efforts, and improve controllable risk factors—ultimately helping more people live longer, healthier lives.”
On Kelce and his brother Jason’s “New Heights” podcast, Swift has opened up about her family’s experience with cardiovascular disease. It’s part of what makes her so relatable, how she shares her personal stories with the world.
Taylor Swift Gives as Her Album Sales Soar
“The American Heart Association stresses that preventive care is essential for lifelong heart health, urging early attention to family history and major risk factors, in addition to talking to your doctor,” the association said in a statement. “Routine screenings help track blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose, body weight, and lifestyle habits such as tobacco use, physical activity, and nutrition.”
So, Swift is giving back, and her album is the gift that keeps giving. The record’s debut “soared past the prior mark of nearly 3.5 million first-week units for Adele’s ’25’ a decade earlier.”
In the Billboard piece, Trust states that the album “launched with a record-demolishing 4.002 million equivalent album units earned in its first week, according to Luminate. It vaulted past the likewise lofty 3.482 million collected by Adele’s 25 in 2015.”
