Taylor Swift News Surfaces Amid Chiefs-Bills Game

The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills are in the spotlight on Sunday, November 2, as these two rivals go head-to-head in one of the most anticipated matchups of the 2025-26 schedule. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and the rest of the Kansas City crew is on the road in Buffalo, with quarterback Josh Allen and the Bills hosting them.

Kelce is in the spotlight today, but his soon-to-be-wife Taylor Swift is never far behind. Swift, of course, released her 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on October 3, and she’s been ruling the airwaves and streaming services ever since. “Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ combines new, exciting sonic turns with incisive storytelling,” Maya Georgi of Rolling Stone says in a review of the album. “On her 12th studio album, Swift hits all her marks — from new, exciting sonic turns to incisive storytelling.”

Now, Swift has gotten some big news amid the Chiefs and Bills clash. So, Kelce has to share the attention a little bit, but he surely doesn’t mind, especially with all the props he’s been getting lately for his stats with the Chiefs, including recording his 100th touchdown, including the postseason.

It’s official: Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” is sitting at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for a third consecutive week. The Hot 100 includes all genres streaming in the U.S., both official audio and official video, radio airplay and sales data.

The song has notched 33.6 million official streams, 49.4 million radio airplay audience impressions and sold 6,000 units in the U.S. in the tracking week ending on October 23, according to Billboard research. “The Fate of Ophelia” is also No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart and the Streaming Songs chart.

“The Life of a Showgirl” continues to sit at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart ,too. According to Billboard, Swift’s showing marks the first time an artist debuting at the top of the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 charts have stayed at the top for their first three weeks.

More Figures for Taylor Swift’s Album

Last weekend, Billboard reported the official earnings for the first week of “The Life of a Showgirl,” which are different from the number of album units sold. As Billboard’s Ed Christman reports, “Based on sales and streams, the superstar is estimated to have raked in $135 million in one week from her new album. And even that number is surely too low.”

That $135 million number is from the album’s huge first-week haul, debuting with 4.002 million equivalent album units, according to Luminate, making it the “only album to pass 4 million in the modern era, and accounted for 50.01% of all current albums in the U.S. that week — but also to an overdrive marketing campaign launched by the Swift camp and her record label, Republic,” Christman states.

The biggest revenue driver for the album was actually sales through “non-traditional channels,” which they call “online CD stores such as Amazon and the official Taylor Swift webstore, as well as Christian stores and chains like Urban Outfitters,” which accounted for 70% of all the release’s consumption units.

So, Swift is on top of the world, and Kelce is right there with her.
