Taylor Swift News Surfaces During Chiefs vs. Lions Game

The Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions are going head-to-head on Sunday Night Football on Sunday, October 12, and with the Chiefs coming off a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City is really going for a win. While plenty of action always happens on the field during a Chiefs game, now that Taylor Swift and tight end Travis Kelce are engaged, there are also plenty of moments that happen off the field that get national attention. Swift was at the game, by the way, with Caitlin Clark.

Taylor Swift recently released her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” and she’s been doing the media rounds in support of the set. There’s even a song in the collection that’s about Kelce, called “Wood,” which has been getting extra attention. Everyone pretty much knew that there had to be a song about Kelce on this album, so it was just a matter of time before that song got out there.

Now, Swift appears to be on the verse of a major announcement, and it won’t be too long before it comes out. Right before the game, “Good Morning America” teased something big.

On Sunday (Oct. 12), “Good Morning America” shared a “huge new exclusive announcement” on social media and tease news about Swift’s new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

“TOMORROW: We’re keep it 💯 with an exclusive Taylor Swift announcement! Tune in ONLY on GMA!” the show stated on Instagram.

The social post also features a clip from Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” music video, along with a voiceover that says, “She’s at it again. Taylor Swift shattering records with the biggest album debut in history with over four million units.”

The post adds, “And now tomorrow morning, GMA has a huge new exclusive announcement on Taylor. So what’s next for her? Find out on ‘Good Morning America.’”

“The Life of a Showgirl” is already a record-breaking release. The album has set the single-week modern-era consumption record for an album, and it also broke the record for the most albums sold in a week in the United States, according to early reports to data tracking firm Luminate.

So, will the announcement be a tour? Probably not. When asked if whether a “The Life of a Showgirl” tour is on the way, Swift recently put an end to those hops. “No,” she told BBC Radio 1 on October 3. “I’m going to be really honest with you — I am so tired. Like, when I think about doing it again …, because I would want to do it really well again.”

Taylor Swift Reviews

The reviews for Swift’s new album are pretty dandy. “Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ combines new, exciting sonic turns with incisive storytelling,” Rolling Stone says in its review of the album. Maya Georgi of Rolling Stone adds, “On her 12th studio album, Swift hits all her marks — from new, exciting sonic turns to incisive storytelling.”

Pitchfork says in their Friday, October 3, review of the set that while much of the album “sounds like much of the pop music you have heard over the past 10 years and throughout your lifetime; it asks that this time, you listen more closely, because this is Taylor Swift, with the enormity of commercial power and cultural significance and algorithmic rank that implies.”

She doesn’t need the kudos at this point, but it must still feel good to get some great press about the set.
