Before the Kansas City Chiefs‘ primetime matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2, Fox on Sunday shared Erin Andrews’ exclusive interview with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Kelce spoke about his engagement to Taylor Swift, as the 10-time Pro Bowler proposed to the pop star last month. When Andrews asked if Kelce was nervous to get down on one knee, “She can tell that story,” Kelce said with a laugh. “Palms were definitely sweating. I’m an emotional guy, so there were a few tears here and there.”
“But just telling her how much she’s meant to me since she’s been in my life. And how I want to spend the rest of my life with her.”
Swift did not attend the Chiefs’ season opener in São Paulo, Brazil, where the Chiefs took a 27-21 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on September 5. TMZ reported shortly after kickoff, “It’s not a shocker Taylor skipped the international game… since none of the WAGs made the trip.
“It’s just a 2-day jaunt leaving no time for the fams to intermingle. Plus, it’s safe to assume security for Taylor played a role in the decision-making.”
While Swift was expected to attend the Chiefs’ home opener on Sunday, September 14, she was nowhere to be seen. Typically, the 14-time Grammy winner is shown multiple times during a primetime broadcast. However, that didn’t mean she wasn’t there.
Taylor Swift Snuck Into The Chiefs-Eagles Game Without Being Photographed
According to E! News, Swift made her way into Arrowhead Stadium for the Super Bowl LIX rematch without being seen by photographers. “A source confirms to E! News that Taylor is in fact at the Chiefs’ first home game of the season against the Philadelphia Eagles,” the outlet reported.
After the game started, a video started to circulate on social media showing a blockade wall going up where Swift usually makes her entrance to the stadium.
Swift’s mother and brother appear to trail behind the black wall. It’s unclear why she didn’t want to be seen; however, it could be due to heightened security reasons following Charlie Kirk’s death. Based on the audio in the background, the Eagles-Chiefs game was nearly at the end of the first quarter when the blocked off entrance took place.
Swift was in Kansas City earlier this week to support Kelce and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes at the soft opening of their restaurant, 1587 Prime.
Chiefs TE Travis Kelce Focused On Bringing The ‘Energy’ Against The Eagles In Week 2

GettyChiefs tight end Travis Kelce stiff arms Eagles’ Cooper DeJean at Arrowhead Stadium on September 14, 2025.
Kelce and the Chiefs would like to avoid starting the season 0-2. Kelce lamented on his “New Heights” podcast after losing to the Chargers, “We gotta get this thing [expletive] going, man.
“We gotta get this train [expletive] running a little bit more. The biggest thing for me is energy, man. We gotta come out with [expletive] energy. I know Arrowhead is going to bring it, it’s going to be fun to feel that atmosphere, but unless the players are on the field doing that, Arrowhead’s not going to be a fun atmosphere.
“We gotta [expletive] bring it knowing that we got one of the best teams, the champs, coming in.”
