Taylor Swift’s Status for Attending Chiefs-Lions Game

The Kansas City Chiefs face a tough matchup against the Detroit Lions in Week 6.

Kansas City needs to bag a win after their 38-21 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who enters Week 6 with 22 receptions for 243 yards and two touchdowns, looks to have a big game.

Not only is Kelce averaging 11 yards per catch, up from 8.5 last season, but he’s also one score away from tying his touchdown total in 2024.

Kelce’s fiancée, Taylor Swift, did not attend the Chiefs-Jaguars matchup at EverBank Stadium last week. Swift remained in New York City while promoting her record-breaking new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which features numerous songs inspired by her future husband.

Swift filmed a guest appearance on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” on Monday night, which preceded numerous high-profile radio interviews. The 14-time Grammy winner was also the sole guest on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” on October 9.

After a whirlwind week in Manhattan, fans hope to see Swift back at Arrowhead Stadium for the Lions-Chiefs game on Sunday, October 12.

Ever since the start of the 2024 NFL season, she has only attended home games, so it’s not a huge surprise that Swift showed up to support Kelce in person on Sunday. However, it was a surprise to see her watching the game with Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark.

A few hours before the Lions-Chiefs matchup, “Good Morning America” revealed the singer will make a “huge new exclusive announcement” on Monday’s show. However, it’s unclear if that means she’ll appear on the show in person. “GMA” films in New York City starting at 7 a.m. ET.

Swift could appear virtually or via a pre-recorded video. As for what she’s about to announce, rumors swirl that it’s an “Eras Tour” documentary.

Before “The Life of a Showgirl” dropped, Swift quietly returned to Arrowhead Stadium to watch the Chiefs defeat the Baltimore Ravens 37-20 in Week 3. While she kept a low profile, managing to avoid cameras, eagle-eyed fans spotted Swift’s dad, Scott Swift, and brother, Austin Swift, in Kelce’s suite.

After the game, she celebrated the team’s win with Kelce at 1587 Prime, the restaurant he co-owns with Mahomes at the Loews Hotel in Kansas City.

Swift also kept an extremely low profile during Kansas City’s home opener against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2. After the game, she helped celebrate Mahomes’ 30th birthday at 1587 Prime.

While Swift celebrates the record-breaking success of “The Life of a Showgirl,” she also still glowing from Kelce’s proposal in August. The 35-year-old admits she can’t stop staring at her engagement ring.

“It’s crazy, that’s crazy,” Swift told Jimmy Fallson. “I look at it constantly, it doesn’t feel in any way normal for me, I’m still like, ‘Oh man, wow!’” And it’s not the massive size of the custom Kindred Lubeck ring that gets her emotional, but what the diamond represents.

“Because he’s just my favorite person I’ve ever met, no offense to everyone else I’ve ever met,” she gushed. “The fact that this is the person I get to hang out with every day forever, that’s the whole thing of it, that’s the win, and this represents that.”
