The Cardinals Wide Receiver Room Is Being Decimated by Injuries

The Arizona Cardinals have dealt with a slew of injuries throughout the 2025 season, including some major contributors. The wide receiver group is following suit after last week’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks, with multiple players set to miss time.

Head coach Jonathan Gannon met with the media on Monday, sharing that two of Arizona’s wideouts were hurt in Week 10.

Zay Jones has been ruled out for the remainder of the year, suffering a torn achilles. He will be placed on injured reserve, freeing up a roster spot.

In eight games of action, Jones totaled 183 yards on 12 catches, including two games over 65 yards receiving.

Simi Fehoko is the other pass-catcher to go down last week, dealing with a wrist injury that will keep him sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Although Fehoko was mainly used as a special-teamer, his presence will still be missed in a dwindling receiver room.

Second-year wideout Xavier Weaver is also dealing with an undisclosed injury of his own, currently listed as questionable for the Cardinals’ Week 11 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

Although none of the three were having huge seasons, having depth at any position is necessary at the NFL level. One more injury could leave Arizona in a really tough spot, with not many options left.

Who’s Still Healthy?

With three of the Cardinals’ receivers dealing with different injuries, it leaves an already small group with an even smaller number of viable targets to throw to.

Marvin Harrison Jr. remains active for Arizona, leading all wideouts with 525 receiving yards, more than double anyone else. He also has four touchdowns on the year, proving to be a solid asset.

Michael Wilson will also be on the field against the 49ers, having a bit of a down year in his third NFL season. He currently has 231 yards and one touchdown through the air.

Greg Dortch is the only other healthy member of the unit, struggling to find consistency so far this year. The fifth-year receiver has just 73 yards and one touchdown this season.

Luckily for the Cardinals, they have one of the most productive tight ends in the NFL, with Trey McBride leading the team in receiving with 603 yards and six touchdowns.

Having McBride helps to make up for the lack of bodies out wide, but Arizona will still need to have a versatile offense to hope to have success moving forward.

Practice Squad and Free Agent Options

With the trade deadline in the past, the only other options for the Cardinals at wide receiver are to promote from the practice squad or find someone in free agency.

The team currently has three wideouts on the practice squad: Jalen Brooks, Bryson Green and Andre Baccellia. Brooks and Baccellia each have NFL experience, in a limited capacity.

As for the free agent pool, there are some big names available, most of whom are outside of their prime.

Some of the notable names in that group include Odell Beckham Jr., Diontae Johnson, Robert Woods, D.J. Chark and Tyler Boyd.
