Pep Guardiola has given an injury update on Rodri after he limped off during Manchester City’s 1-0 win at Brentford on Sunday.
Erling Haaland scored the only goal at the G-tech Community Stadium to help move City up to fifth in the Premier League table.
But the three points came at a cost after star midfielder Rodri hobbled off the pitch after just 22 minutes, with Nico Gonzalez replacing him.
The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner has struggled to get back to full fitness after suffering a devastating ACL injury last season that ruled him out for eight months.
After watching the Spain international clutching the back of his leg, fans will no doubt be fearing the worst as City look to beat the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool to the title.

However, Guardiola suggested it was not a bad injury, telling BBC Match of the Day: ‘It is muscular so two weeks or three weeks [out].
‘Of course I don’t want to lose him even a little bit but it is a pity because he is such an important player. We tried to take care of him but it is what it is.

‘I remember the press conference [asking] why I substitute Rodri in Monaco. I would love to have Rodri every three days but after one year it happens all the time, it is so demanding. That is why we tried to be gentle, play 60-65 minutes but it cannot happen more.’
If Guardiola’s assessment is correct, it is possible that Rodri won’t miss any games for his club as it is now the international break, with City next in action on October 18 against Everton.
If it is the worst case scenario, the 29-year-old will miss the Toffees clash, the Champions League trip to Villarreal and potentially the away game at Aston Villa.

After that City travel to Championship side Swansea City for a Carabao Cup clash on October 29.
Rodri is Spain captain and was called-up for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Bulgaria, though he is expected to withdraw from the squad now.
