On Tuesday December 9, 2025, NBC Sports Bay Area San Francisco Giants insider Alex Pavlovic provided some updates on X about which Giants players are likely to participate in the World Baseball Classic.Â
The World Baseball Classic is the biggest international baseball tournament in the world, drawing superstar players from all of the best professional baseball leagues around the globe, similar to the World Cup in international soccer. This yearâs WBC will take place during 2026 Spring Training, from March 5-March 17, 2026.Â
Logan Webb
Pavlovic reported Team USA manager Mark DeRosa said that he is hopeful Logan Webb will be on the USA roster for the 2026 WBC.Â
Webb was initially supposed to be on Team USAâs roster for the last WBC in 2023; he committed to being on the roster in December of 2022. But he pulled out just a month before the 2023 WBC kicked off.Â
Webb said at the time that he felt it was more important to be at Giants spring training and be a leader that helped San Francisco prepare for the upcoming season. He felt that the Giants had big expectations and goals for 2023.Â
The Giants ultimately went 79-83 during that 2023 season, the last year of the Gabe Kapler era.Â
Jung Hoo LeeÂ
Pavlovic also reported that Giants center fielder Jung Hoo Lee is expected to play for South Korea in the 2026 WBC.Â
Lee played for South Korea in the 2023 WBC, just one season before he signed with the Giants. During that WBC, he hit .429 with 2 doubles, 5 RBI and 1 steal in 4 games (14 at-bats).Â
Lee is likely hoping to help Korea to a better result in the WBC this time around. They finished third in the Tokyo Pool with a 2-2 record, unable to advance to the quarterfinal round.Â
Heliot Ramos
Also according to Pavlovic, the Puerto Rico head coaches are hopeful that Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos will play for team Puerto Rico in the 2026 WBC.Â
This would be Ramosâs first WBC. Puerto Rico carried for outfielders on its roster for the 2023 WBC: Johneshwy Fargas, Henry Ramos, Eddie Rosario, and Nelson Velazquez.Â
Kai Wei TengÂ
Pavlovic also said in the replies to his post on X that itâs likely that Giants pitcher Kai-Wei Teng will suit up for Chinese Taipei in the 2026 WBC.Â
Many people like Pavlovic currently consider Teng the ace for Chinese Taipei. He made 1 appearance in the 2023 WBC in relief, and allowed 3 baserunners without recording an out.Â
Heâs played in other events for the national team such as the 2019 Asian Championship.Â
Willy Adames and Rafael Devers
Finally, Pavlovic mentioned that it is unlikely that Willy Adames and Rafael Devers will play for the Dominican Republic in the 2026 WBC.
Both players were on the Dominican Republicâs 2023 roster.Â
More Giants participation than 2023Â
It seems like the Giants will have more big league stars on WBC rosters in 2026 than they did in 2023.Â
Back in â23, Joc Pederson (Israel) and Camilo Doval (Dominican Republic) were the only Giants on the big league roster to suit up for the international tournament.Â
Giants fans, which player are you most excited to see in the World Baseball Classic in 2026?Â
