Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is reportedly set for around six weeks on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury.
Alisson hobbled off in the second half of Liverpool’s Champions League defeat to Galatasaray on Tuesday night.
The 33-year-old was immediately ruled out of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Chelsea, but has since undergone scans on Thursday to discover the full extent of the injury.
Speaking on Tuesday, Slot did not strike a positive town, telling reporters: ‘I cannot tell you because I am not a physician but normally when a player sprints back and feels something and goes to the floor and doesn’t come back to the pitch – which by the way they did 112 times being injured and coming back on the pitch without any pain – but our players don’t do this.
‘So if one of our players is on the floor nine times out of 10 I fear the worst, and with the worst I mean he cannot continue and that is what happened with Alisson.’

And Slot’s fears appear to have been realised, with The Athletic reporting that the 33-year-old may well not rerturn until after the November international break.
After October’s inernational break, Liverpool host Manchester United at Anfield before a trip to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.

The Reds then visit Brentford before a Carabao Cup tie with Crystal Palace, who they lost to in the Premier League last month.
After that, Slot’s side have a crucial run of fixtures, facing Aston Villa and Manchester City in the league, in between the visit of Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Liverpool fixtures before November international break
Chelsea vs Liverpool (October 4, Premier League)
Liverpool vs Manchester United (October 19, Premier League)
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Liverpool (October 22, Champions League)

Should Alisson be fit after the November international break, he could return for the visit of Nottingham Forest on 22 November.
In the meantimg, Giorgi Mamardashvili, who arrived from Valencia in the summer, will replace Alisson in goal.
The Georgian international made his professional debut for Liverpool in their 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Southampton last month.
Elsewhere, however, Liverpool appear more confident about the fitness of Hugeo Ekitike who was also subbed off against Galatasary on Tuesday.
‘He felt something when he had to reach for the ball,’ Slot said after Liverpool’s defeat.
‘After the game, that’s always the difficult thing with these moments when players feel like it is not too bad, but when you just walk around it is something different than when you make a sprint or have to shoot on target.
‘He said he couldn’t continue so we had to take him off. Let’s see how he is for the weekend.’
