ROGER FEDERER has joked he is “considering turning pro” in a shock new sport.
The tennis legend, 42, retired in 2022 after more than two decades as a professional.

During that time, he won 20 Grand Slam titles and is one of the greatest players to ever play the sport.
However, two years on from hanging up his racquet, Federer has hinted he could switch to a completely different sport.
During a visit to Dartmouth College in the USA, the Swiss professed his love for BEER PONG, which is believed to have originated from the Ivy League university.
Speaking on Commencement Day for the Class of 2024, Federer joked: “There is another reason I’m here, and I can sum it up in two words: Beer pong. Or pong, as you call it. And I guess you can call it what you like—I’m told Dartmouth invented it!
“Now, this sport… Wait. Is pong a sport? Or is it a way of life? Either way, Dartmouth is the Wimbledon of pong. I’m glad I got to work on my shots with some of you. I’m actually thinking about turning pro.
“But I know there’s more to Dartmouth than pong. I have spent an amazing couple of days here, and you have made Hanover feel like home. The mountains here are exactly like the Swiss Alps. Just… shorter.”
The drinking game sees competitors aim to throw a table tennis, or ping pong, ball into a cup of beer at the opposite end of a table.
Since its early days on the Dartmouth College campus, beer pong’s popularity has soared, with leagues and tournaments held across the USA.

Federer is now the latest fan of the sport following his trip to Hanover, New Hampshire.
A potential switch would come after 24 years as one of the best tennis players in the world.
Of Federer’s 20 Grand Slam titles, eight came at Wimbledon, whilst he also won gold in the men’s doubles at the 2008 Olympics.
Federer also spent 310 weeks as the world number one during his illustrious career.
