Smith was 5-2 down and looking set for an exit in Munich when he produced an amazing fightback.
The darts ace eventually battled his way back to 5-5.
And he sealed an incredible victory by checking out on D10.
Smith roared with delight as he toasted his win.
But disaster struck as he approached the dartboard.
Smith launched an arrow at it from point-blank range as he released some pent-up energy.
But his aggressive hurl broke the board as the number ring came clean off.
And Smith has now apologised for his behaviour on the oche.

The star, who faces either Luke Humphries or Connor Scutt on Final Day, said: “I would like to apologise for my attitude in that game.
“There’s no excuse but my head is fried.
“From struggling the way I am with my shoulder and wrist to last night getting a phone call off my wife and kids crying as they thought our dog was dying.
“So was a late run to the emergency vets and staying awake til 3am to I could stay in contact with them and trying to comfort them.
“But thankfully she seems OK now and we know what was wrong with her as she looked possessed with her legs not working and her head twisting like a bird with bird flu.
“But we go again tomorrow now and with a clear head hopefully and a better and more mature performance so once against I apologise.”
