Three-Time Grammy Award Nominated Artist Urges Panthers to Sign Micah Parsons

Every team in the National Football League has their eyes on Micah Parsons. The four-time Pro-Bowler made waves by requesting a trade from the Dallas Cowboys.

That’s not to say the Cowboys are going to grant his trade. Looking at the Carolina Panthers, they are a team that have snuck into the Parsons race. With +2200 odds, it’s no wonder why the country music artist wants his favorite team to go all-in.

Luke Combs Takes Notice of Micah Parsons Requesting a Trade

Luke Combs is a longtime fan of the Panthers. The 35-year-old was born in Huntersville, NC, a suburb of Charlotte. From the Pat McAfee show to ESPN to Yahoo Sports, plenty of major outlets have covered his love for the team.

Now, Combs has his sights set on the Panthers improving their defense. A ton of offensive weapons have been added, but Carolina’s defense continues to hold them back. It’s no secret that Parsons is a game-changing player, one that would undoubtedly change the course of their franchise.

The country music sensation took to social media to tag the team upon news of Parsons statement. One of the main quotes on Adam Schefter’s post was, “I have made a tough decision. I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally.”

In a lengthy post, Parsons expressed his displeasure with the Cowboys. Just one year ago, he called himself a “for-lifer“. Now, he is saying, “I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying on the line for the organization our fans and my teammates.”

Combs included a few eye-ball emojis as his intentions are clear. While the 2021-22 Entertainer of the Year has no pull within the organization, he’s a big name to have backing the team.

Fans Join Luke Combs in the Panthers Hunt for Micah Parsons

One individual reposted a video where Parsons was talking to Luke Kuechly. Kuechly had an extensive career with the Panthers from 2012-19. He was a seven-time Pro-Bowler, and was named First-team All-Pro on five occasions.

“You guys were my favorite team growing up,” Parsons said. Fans continue to share old videos and clips as they’ll do anything to try and recruit the 2021 No. 12 overall pick.

This fan tagged Parsons, saying, “Carolina blue would look good on you!” as another included a photoshopped image of Parsons in the Panthers uniform.

The main issue with teams on the hunt for Parsons is his contract. He’ll be a free agent after the 2025 season. From there, he’ll likely be requesting $20-30 million per season. Not every team is able to meet that sort of cap space.

“We could only hope! I fear, if they do actually trade, Jerry’s asking price would be too high for the Panthers. But we can hope,” one fan said.

Someone jokingly proposed, “Luke I’m thinking Halftime Show or Superbowl National anthem for playoffs in exchange for Parsons.”

If somehow the Panthers were able to land Parsons, Combs would certainly take a little of the credit. After all, he’s sold out stadiums across the world, including Bank of America Stadium.
