The Las Vegas Raiders have been busy this offseason, and one of the biggest storylines throughout the past few months has been legendary quarterback Tom Brady‘s involvement with the team. Brady officially became a minority owner of the Raiders in October of 2024, with the team hoping he can lend a helping hand in getting them back on track.
Despite not being involved in the front office, Brady has reportedly been very involved in the day-to-day operations of the team. That apparently includes helping put together some of the team’s coaching staff, as it was recently revealed that Brady’s longtime trainer, Alex Guerrero, has been hired for a role with the Raiders.

Among the most impressive feats from Brady’s career was his ability to last 23 seasons in the league. In order to play football for that long, you need to be working almost nonstop on keeping yourself in tip-top physical shape. The guy who helped Brady due that for the majority of his career was Guerrero.
Brady and Guerrero met in 2004, and they quickly developed a friendship. They eventually became business partners when they co-founded their health and wellness brand, TB12, and as Brady’s career went on, Guerrero became more and more involved with the New England Patriots. Of course, head coach Bill Belichick famously put a stop to that, which led to tension between him and Brady rising.
Even though Brady isn’t playing anymore, he and Guerrero still work closely together, and that relationship has carried over to the Raiders. With Las Vegas, Guerrero is working as a wellness coordinator, and he recently took a second to explain how he landed the gig and what he plans to do to help his new team out.
“I was fortunate and blessed to work with Tom Brady for so many years. And just through the years, we’ve always talked about if we ever had the opportunity to kind of do it at the team level, that we would love to do that,” Guerrero said in an interview with Tashan Reed of The Athletic. “It was offered to me to be able to do what I’ve been doing for the last 30-plus years, and to be able to bring it and do some of it here at the Raiders.”

While Brady has credited Guerrero frequently for helping prolong his playing career in the NFL, the latter has been involved in quite a bit of controversy throughout his career. Back in 2005, Guerrero was sanctioned by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission for falsely presenting himself as a doctor and claiming that he could cure several deadly diseases, such as cancer and AIDS. Other reports have indicated that he has a history of financial troubles and legal issues.
The Raiders weren’t thrown off by any of that, though, and opted to hire Guerrero, largely due to his ties with Brady. After seeing his success with the legendary quarterback, the team will be hoping he can work some of his magic on their players. Whether or not it ends up happening remains to be seen, but this is yet another move that indicates Brady is more involved with Las Vegas than many folks thought he would be.
