Jamie O’Hara has urged Tottenham to sign Arsenal and Chelsea transfer target Leroy Sane to replace Son Heung-min in the summer window.

The Bayern Munich winger becomes a free agent at the end of the month with Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea all interested in a deal for the 29-year-old.

Tottenham are said to be ‘confident’ of winning the race for Sane, who has reportedly already moved to London with his wife ahead of a move.

Former Spurs star O’Hara feels Sane would be an ideal replacement for Son, who looks set for an exit before the start of the new 2025-26 season.

‘I’d love Leroy Sane to sign for Spurs,’ O’Hara told Grosvenor Sport about the Germany international, who previously played for Manchester City.

‘He’s a world class player who has won everything. Why would you not want him at your football club?

Leroy Sane would be worth £250k-a-week, says Jamie O’Hara (Picture: Shutterstock)

‘He might’ve picked up a few injuries in his career, but you can’t tell me he wouldn’t be a great signing for Spurs – even if he demands up to £250,000 a week.

‘There’s so many areas where Tottenham need to improve. I’d say the highest priority position for Spurs is a left-winger.

‘Son Heung-min can’t affect a game like he used to’

‘I don’t think Son Heung-min can affect a game like he used to; I think he’s on his way out and I’d let him go.

‘The backup players to that position aren’t great either. Wilson Odobert hasn’t been too convincing from what I’ve seen of him so far.

‘Spurs will be playing Champions League football next season, which gives them a huge opportunity to spend money, recruit well and stay in the Champions League.

‘They’ve somehow clinched European football after finishing 17th in the league – Daniel Levy has to capitalise on this chance.’

It has been reported that Spurs wish to generate transfer funds and reshape their squad, which is why Son has been put up for sale.

Son, who can operate as a left winger or centre-forward, is wanted by several teams from Saudi Arabia.

The 32-year-old only has one year left on his deal and Spurs would rather sell him now and generate a fee than lose him as a free agent in 2026.

Should Son be replaced by Sane, Spurs would be getting a player who landed two Premier League trophies under Pep Guardiola at City.

Sane also won the FA Cup with City and helped the club clinch three Carabao Cup titles.

He has spent the last two seasons playing with former Tottenham stars Harry Kane and Eric Dier at Bayern.
