Trade Idea has Browns Acquiring $110M Star Receiver to Replace Jerry Jeudy

The Cleveland Browns could make a splash this offseason to add more offense to their roster.

Cleveland could look to draft a quarterback in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft to be their franchise quarterback. Yet, the Browns could also use a legit No. 1 receiver, and that may come through a trade.

Heavy.com has a trade idea that sees the Browns acquiring DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears to bolster their receiver room.

Browns acquire:

  • DJ Moore

Bears acquire:

  • 2026 third-round pick

The proposed deal makes sense for both sides, especially the Browns, who need to add a true No. 1 receiver or just receiver help in general. Chicago, meanwhile, gets out of Moore’s contract and can build their receiving core around Rome Odunze.

Moore is in the midst of a four-year, $110 million deal with the Bears. The receiver is set to make $28.5 million in 2026 and 2027, with a potential out in 2028. With the Browns, Moore can be the team’s No.1. receiver and help give whoever is at quarterback a top receiver to throw to.

Meanwhile, Cleveland has 10 total picks in 2026, including four picks in the first three rounds, so moving on from a third-round pick isn’t back-breaking. If the Browns are going to draft a rookie quarterback early in 2026, bringing in a veteran receiver is a must, and Moore could be the one they go after.

Moore has recorded 43 receptions for 567 yards and 5 touchdowns with the Bears this season. Last year, he recorded 98 receptions for 966 yards and 6 touchdowns. But with the Carolina Panthers, Moore had 1000+ receiving yards in three of his five seasons.

Jerry Jeudy Hasn’t Worked Out For Browns

The Browns traded for Jeudy in March of 2024 from the Denver Broncos to be the team’s No. 1 receiver.

However, Jeudy has struggled to be the top receiver as this season has been a major disappointment. Jeudy hasn’t been able to have that productive a season, while on Sunday, he dropped an easy touchdown pass that bounced right into the defender’s hands for an interception.

After the game, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski sent a clear message to Jeudy on the interception.

“Yeah, I think our players understand this game,” Stefanski said on Monday. “It’s a 60-minute game, and there’s plays in every game that you’re going to want back. From a coaching perspective, from a playing perspective, all we ask and what our guys give is everything they got. Not to say that we’re going to be perfect, but we’ll just keep fighting when there’s time on the clock.”

Jeudy has yet to have a 100+ receiving yard game this season with the Browns, showing the need for a true No. 1 receiver.

Shedeur Sanders Building Trust With Jeudy

Sanders has struggled to find chemistry with Jeudy, as the two even had a spat on the sidelines in an earlier game.

With Jeudy struggling, Sanders said the two are continuing to build their trust with one another.

“Well, I’ll say it’s more faith-based, and just committing to it. Obviously me and Jerry had that dispute or whatever last week. But I have faith in him, he has faith in me, and everybody put everything aside and, ‘okay, cool, let’s go out there, play ball,’” Sanders said.

“When you go in situations, you have no negativity, no hate on your heart, no anything, and you out there enjoying, having fun, then that’s the result you’re going to be able to get. So, that was the message in pregame — we all together, we got to be as one, no matter what happens. Good, bad, ugly, we got to stay together. So that’s just a testimony for real.”

The Browns are set to host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
