The 2025 season has been one to forget for the Arizona Cardinals.
Bad play and injuries have led to a 3-12 season, and the future seems bleak in the perennially loaded NFC West.
Despite how awful this season has been, two Arizona players were selected for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games on Tuesday.
These are far from Pro Bowl newcomers. The two Cardinals who made the Pro Bowl Games are quite familiar with the NFL exhibition event.
Trey McBride and Budda Baker Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowlers
The Cardinals two best players are both going to the 2026 Pro Bowl Games. Trey McBride is establishing himself as the top tight end in the NFL, and Budda Bakers continues to be one of the best safeties in the league.
Interestingly enough, Arizona’s two Pro Bowlers are more than some playoff teams. The Jacksonville Jaguars and Green Bay Packers both only had one Pro Bowl selection.
Cardinals fans would surely like these selections to accompany a successful season, but it is still a nice honor, nonetheless. In a lost season like this, all that is left is to celebrate the individual accomplishments of the team’s best players. If you’re an Arizona fan, McBride accumulating statistics is the most interesting part of this team, aside for the Cardinals potentially losing out and improving their draft position.
Let’s stick with McBride. The fourth-year tight end has emerged as the best tight end in the NFL, with respect to Brock Bowers.
McBride is sixth in the NFL with 1,098 receiving yards, which is more than 200 yards more than the next tight end. He also has 10 touchdowns, which is tied for third in the league.
It speaks to the great career resume that McBride is putting together. He could easily surpass 1,200 receiving yards and is in line for his first All-Pro recognition.
In a Cardinals season that has featured so much uncertainty, injuries, and overall bad play, McBride has stood out as Arizona’s best player.
Consistency Personified in Budda Baker
If it weren’t for Larry Fitzgerald, Baker’s eight Pro Bowl selections would be the most in Arizona Cardinals history. Well, it would be tied for the most since Patrick Peterson also made the Pro Bowl eight times in Arizona, but you get the point.
Baker has been a rock for the Cardinals defense ever since he was a rookie in 2017. This season, Baker has 111 total tackles, 0.5 sacks, five passes defensed, and one interception. He has also played in all 15 games so far.
What’s more impressive is that Baker has done all this before his 30th birthday. He clearly still has some gas left in the tank, and he is under contract in Arizona through the end of the 2017 season. If he continues to play well, then he could surpass Peterson in Pro Bowl berths.
Baker also has value as one of the most well-known players on the Cardinals. He is closing in on a decade with the franchise and has been consistently good. Aside from McBride, Baker is one of the most marketable players on the team, and that has importance when Kyler Murray’s future with the team is uncertain.
