The 2300 Arena is set to host a multitude of All Elite Wrestling shows over the next few weeks. AEW is taking Philadelphia by storm en route to their next PPV, All Out.
The 7th annual All Out PPV already has two matches confirmed. Neither will be for a championship as the September 20 event is set to feature a pair of grudge matches.
Darby Allin’s Road to Toronto Leads to a Singles Match with Jon Moxley at All Out
After a wild falls count anywhere match, Darby Allin has set himself up for a date with the leader of The Death Riders. Jon Moxley hasn’t been himself since losing the AEW World Championship to “Hangman” Adam Page at All In: Texas.
Moxley held that belt for 273 days before dropping it in a Texas Death Match. It’s hard to imagine a scenario where Darby doesn’t face Moxley in some sort of stipulation match. Allin is known for his death-defying tactics while Moxley can’t seem to go a match without bleeding.
The issues between Allin and Moxley goes back years. This isn’t the first time they’ll be squaring off against each other, nor will it be the last. November 20, 2019 marked the first AEW singles match between the two. Moxley won that one, and later successfully defended his title against Allin on July 30, 2020.
It took four years for them to meet in singles competition again. In a No. 1 Contender match to the World Title, Moxley got the better of Darby at 2024’s Grand Slam event. Including an independent match in 2019, Moxley is 4-0 against Allin in singles matches.
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage Have Had Enough of FTR
Toronto was the only location for this heated tag team bout to take place. A reunion years in the making finally took place as it looks like Adam Copeland and Christian Cage have settled their differences once and for all. The former tag team champions didn’t exactly see eye-to-eye when Cope first came to AEW.
Three brutal singles matches set the stage for a reunion no one saw coming. FTR’s brutal assault on the man formerly known as Edge left him no choice but to go back to his roots. While it seemed unlikely that Copeland would ever want to work with Christian once again, sometimes the enemy of my enemy truly is my friend.
Knowing their history, it’s wild to think that this is Cope and Christian’s first traditional two-on-two tag team match in Toronto. Their Canadian roots run deep as FTR had their chance to capture the Tag Team Titles at Forbidden Door. Those two came out on the losing end while Copeland and Christian won their first tag team match together in 14 years.
Killswitch and Kip Sabian stood no chance against a newly reformed legendary tag team. This is another feud that doesn’t require a championship as the hatred runs deep. There are so many elements to the story as Christian could leave Copeland high and dry at any second. With their careers coming to an end sooner rather than later, it’s clear they want one last run at those tag titles.
