Pro Football Focus has released the first 20 names in their top 50 players heading into next season, featuring two Los Angeles Rams youngsters.
Dalton Wasserman and Trevor Sikkema named the defensive and offensive players, who are considered the future of the Rams, on the list.
Defensive Rookie of the Year EDGE rusher Jared Verse was ranked as the 47th best player in the league. Here’s what Wasserman and Sikkema had to say about Verse:
“The 2024 campaign was only his rookie season, but Verse proved to be one of the league’s toughest edge defenders to block. His 81 total pressures trailed only Trey Hendrickson, and he earned grades above 80.0 as a pass rusher and run defender. The one blemish was the 30% missed tackle rate in pass-rush situations, which kept him from converting more of those pressures into sacks.”
Next on the list for the Rams is 2023 All-Pro wide receiver Puka Nacua at the 32nd spot.
“Nacua played only 11 games in 2024 due to injury but still finished with the NFL’s highest receiving grade at 93.0. He’s also coming off a 1,486-yard rookie season in 2022. Over the past two years, he ranks seventh among receivers in PFF WAR (1.01). The scary part? Nacua is still getting better, building on an already elite level of production and efficiency.”
PFF will reveal the top 10 players on Friday, July 18th.
Jared Verse Entering Year 2

In his rookie season with the Los Angeles Rams, Jared Verse had 4.5 sacks, 66 combined tackles and 77 pressures with the Rams. His pressures were the fourth most in the NFL, an impressive feat for a rookie.
Verse joined the Rich Eisen Show on May 9th and said that he expects to get more sacks in his second season as a professional.
Verse received an 86.2 overall grade from PFF, with an 83.7 pass rush grade and 78.4 run grade. All these grades ranked in the top 11 out of all qualifying EDGE rushers.
Five-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Terron Armstead believes the Rams defender can make a massive jump next season.
“I feel that strongly,” Armstead said. “As he continues to craft his game to get more off the bull rush… It’s still so many things for him to build into his game. I can see him being Defensive Player of the Year.
PFF ranked the former Florida State Seminole 8th best EDGE heading into next season.
Puka Nacua One of the Best Receivers

A fifth-round selection by the Rams in the 2024 NFL Draft, wide receiver Puka Nacua has cemented himself as one of the best at his respective position.
The former BYU Cougar recorded two consecutive seasons with 990+ or more in Los Angeles — Nacua played in 11 games in his second year.
Nacua said that he was working on his body this offseason to prepare for next season.
“I feel like I’ve gotten stronger in this offseason,” he said, Rams Wire. “I’ve slimmed down a little bit, maybe narrowed down the body fat percentage by building that muscle back up. I’m excited. I enjoy the physicality part of the game. That’s what wakes me up in the morning.
“Being out there on the football field and start running around, making guys miss but then also punishing defenders is something I look forward to and it makes me excited to get back out there on the football field.”
Nacua received a 92.8 overall grade and a 93 pass catch grade from PFF. The website named Puka the fifth-best receiver heading into the 2025-26 season.
