Tyrese Haliburton’s Girlfriend Shares 5-Word Message After Pacers Star’s Injury

Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton got a message of support from his girlfriend on social media following his horrific injury in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

Haliburton went down in the first quarter with a torn right Achilles tendon. The Pacers confirmed the injury with a statement on Monday.

“Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton suffered an injury to his right Achilles tendon during the first quarter of last night’s NBA Finals game at Oklahoma City,” the statement read. “An MRI taken on Monday confirmed that Haliburton tore his right Achilles tendon. Surgery is scheduled later today with Dr. Martin O’Malley at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.”

Haliburton and his girlfriend, Jade Jones, began in college at Iowa State University in 2019. Jones posted an emotional message on social media on Monday, showing her consoling Haliburton after the Game 7 loss.

“Every step of the way,” Jones said in the post.

She also added: “A run we will remember for a lifetime. You are so amazing.”

Jones shared an additional emotional tribute on social media following the Pacers’ remarkable playoff run, reflecting on the team’s impact and expressing her pride in Haliburton’s resilience and leadership.

“What a year!!! What a bittersweet ending to it all. This team is SO special, beyond words. You have made a historic run for the Pacers that generations will be talking about!!! This season has made such a special imprint on my heart. One of the best things we have ever been a part of!!! Just know how much it meant to all of us.

The smile you have put on people’s faces, the joy & excitement you have brought to this city. You have been nothing short of amazing. You are so selfless, brave, and strong! We have the best support system around us who will pull you through this! I will always be your biggest cheerleader. I will forever be so proud of you!! Our team’s got you. We will be back, we’re not finished yet! Gods plan, Gods timing. My superstar, I love you.”

She also added a subtle jab with a hashtag at the end that read, “#Overratethat.” It’s a reference to an anonymous player poll by The Athletic that voted Haliburton the “most overrated” player in the league.

Haliburton is expected to miss most, if not all, of next season recovering from the injury.

Pacers Gutted for Tyrese Haliburton After Injury

The Pacers fell short in Game 7, dropping a 103-91 decision after losing their leader to injury. Haliburton had sparked Indiana early, notching nine points in just seven minutes before being forced to exit.

Haliburton’s absence shifted the game’s momentum, and the Pacers couldn’t recover. Still, after the loss, head coach Rick Carlisle delivered high praise for his star guard.

“He authored one of the great individual playoff runs in the history of the NBA with dramatic play after dramatic play,” Carlisle said. “It was something that no one’s ever seen and he did it as one of 17. You know, that’s the beautiful thing about him: As great a player as he is, it’s always a team thing.”
