Christian Pulisic has had an eventful time to his career in Europe. After an injury-riddled stint with Chelsea, the USMNT star forward finally found his top form with AC Milan.
Pulisic spent four seasons with Chelsea from 2019 to 2023, scoring 26 goals after 145 appearances. He played in 26 matches of the UEFA Champions League in that span, scoring five goals. While he enjoyed the high of winning the title in 2021, injuries prevented him from fulfilling his potential as he left for greener pastures.
In came AC Milan. Completing two seasons with the Italian club, he already surpassed his numbers from the Premier League with Chelsea. After 100 appearances, he struck the net 32 times, showing how he found the fit he desired while playing in Europe.
“Here at Milan, I’ve been given freedom from the start, and I feel the trust in me from everyone: from my teammates to the coach, from the directors to the fans,” Pulisic said to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“By acquiring me, the club has given me a great opportunity, and I have a duty to improve every year, to work hard to always take a step forward in terms of performance.”

It is highly beneficial for the USMNT to have their best player performing at a high level in Europe. With that region of the world having most of the best talents, it is clear that Christian Pulisic has found his footing with AC Milan.
Pulisic and the Serie A club will now prepare for the 2025-26 season. The last campaign was a disappointment for the team, finishing eighth place in the Serie A’s regular-season standings. As a result, they fell short of qualification for the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, or Conference League.
Pulisic and the club is moving on from that season, however. They look to bounce back from those woes, wanting to return to the top of the standings this time around.
“That’s true, although it’s easier to say after having scored so many goals in the last two seasons,” Pulisic said to La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I’m having a lot of fun at Milan and I want to continue on this path, pushing as hard as I can.”
The club hired Massimiliano Allegri at the helm as their new manager, firing Sérgio Conceição. They also brought in veteran midfielder Luka Modrić, who succeeded with Real Madrid while making history with his country Croatia. Pulisic made it very clear on what the team’s goals are moving forward.
“Our goal is to qualify [for the Champions League] next year. The Champions League is the most exciting European competition, and Milan deserves to play in it,” Pulisic said.
AC Milan is in the middle of their summer friendlies as they will face Leeds United on Aug. 9 at 10 a.m. EST. As for the Serie A regular season, their opener will be against Cremonese on Aug. 23 at 2:45 p.m. ET.
