Veteran WR Sends Strong Reaction After Making Seahawks 53-Man Roster

As a former undrafted free agent, veteran wide receiver Cody White has worked hard to appear in 20 NFL games during his career. But entering his sixth season, there was something left unchecked on his NFL resume — make a team out of training camp.

On August 26, White added that to his list of accomplishments. The Seattle Seahawks included White on their initial 53-man roster at the league’s cutdown deadline Tuesday.

The receiver addressed on Instagram what it meant to him to be on the team’s first official roster of 2025.

“Not everybody’s journey is the same, my football life has been crazy,” White wrote on Tuesday. “I’ve been in the league for 6 years, I’ve never made the 53 man roster after training camp until today!!

“All praise to the man above, perseverance and hard work. Just know there will be tough days, tough moments, tough years, just keep going and never quit!

“‘Quitters never win, and winners never quit’

“I can finally call my momma and tell her I MADE IT!”

Last season, the Seahawks waived White after training camp. But the team brought him back on its first practice squad of 2024.

The Seahawks elevated White for the first time last year in Week 9. He caught two passes for 44 yards. White played in four games for the Seahawks last season from Weeks 9-13.

Barring a late change to the team’s roster over the next week, he will dress in Week 1 for the first time in his NFL career.
