Vikings DC Brian Flores Issues Brutally Honest Lamar Jackson Message Before Week 10 Game

The Baltimore Ravens appear to finally be back after a painfully slow start to the 2025 campaign. With Lamar Jackson back under center, the Ravens easily dispatched the Miami Dolphins in Week 9 to push their record to 3-5. Now, they will look to keep up the positive momentum when they take on the Minnesota Vikings in what figures to be a more difficult Week 10 contest.

It’s also been a bit of a rocky season for the Vikings, but they managed to pick up a statement victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 9. With defensive coordinator Brian Flores leading the way for Minnesota, you can bet he’s going to have a unique plan in place when it comes to slowing down Jackson, and ahead of this game, he discussed the challenge that comes with playing against the Ravens’ high-octane offense.

Brian Flores Discusses Upcoming Matchup vs. Lamar Jackson

While Flores struggled during his time as the Miami Dolphins head coach, he’s one of the top defensive masterminds in the NFL. That was on full display just last week, when Flores devised a game plan that slowed down the Lions and helped the Vikings pull off one of the more surprising upset victories of the week.

Jackson presents issues that no other quarterback in the league presents, though. His ability to create plays with his legs is obviously a big plus for Baltimore, but he is also a skilled passer of the football. Add in playmakers like Derrick Henry and Zay Flowers, and it’s not hard to see why Baltimore’s offense is considered one of the most lethal units in the league.

Both the Ravens and Vikings could badly use a win in Week 10, which will surely make this contest more exciting than it already is. Flores is well aware of the challenge that comes with facing off against Jackson, as he highlighted his continued growth over the past few seasons, which has led to him becoming a yearly MVP candidate.

“He’s improved and gotten better in all areas of his game,” Flores said of Jackson. “He’s a perennial MVP candidate year after year after year.”

Jackson is instrumental when it comes to the success of the Ravens’ offense. That’s why protecting him under center is going to be the key to winning this game for Baltimore. Jackson can obviously scramble and create big plays from seemingly out of nowhere, but if he’s on the run all day long, he’s going to struggle just like Jared Goff did last weekend.

After dealing with injury woes earlier in the season, Baltimore is about as healthy as it can be now, which should help the team in its quest to get past Minnesota. Kickoff for this game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon, and all eyes will be on Jackson to see if he can find a way to pick up a win against Flores and a stingy Vikings defense.
