The Minnesota Vikings received a final confirmation that slot receiver, Rondale Moore, would in fact miss the entirety of the 2025 regular season – a crushing blow to a player who will now miss two consecutive NFL seasons with a knee injury – one to each knee.
Although the team have some other options in the form of third round rookie, Tai Felton, and fairly productive 2022 sixth round pick, Jalen Nailor, it is not just Moore who the team will be short.
Justin Jefferson is recovering from a hamstring injury that has kept him out of practice, which the team are set to review next week. Whilst third year wideout, Jordan Addison, will miss the first three games of the upcoming season after receiving a DUI citation that violated the league’ substance abuse policy.
It is not inconceivable, as a result, that the Vikings could be lining up on Week 1 with Nailor and Felton as their top two wideouts on offense – a situation that head coach, Kevin O’Connell, will desperately want to avoid.
As a result, this free agent proposal has Minnesota make a play to sign former Giants, Browns and Dolphins receiver, Odell Beckham Jr..
Odell Beckham ‘Not Done Yet’ With The NFL
Despite having spent a total of 11 years in the league as a player – 10 of which he played in (he missed all of 2022 whilst recovering from an ACL tear suffered in Super Bowl LVI) – Beckham revealed on Tuesday that he is “not done yet” with his playing career, per his X account.

And NFL insider, Tom Pelissero, noted on Wednesday that there have been “several teams” interested in signing the 2 x All-Pro.
Three-time Pro Bowl WR Odell Beckham Jr. has drawn interest from several teams and plans to play somewhere in 2025, per source.
As OBJ posted himself, he is not retiring, and he continues to train in anticipation of being on the field soon. pic.twitter.com/phX0QxMBvU

Would Signing OBJ Substantially Help The Vikings’ Receiver Room?
Beckham Jr. has evidently had an illustrious career, filled with incredible highs, multiple post-season all-star team nods and even a Super Bowl ring.
After a strong 2023 with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens gave hope that he was still a bona fide starter in the league, a 55 total yard receiving season in 2024 pushed out much of those feelings.
The former LSU startlet clearly feels he has more left in the tank – and he is just 32 years of age. The question will be if a young quarterback like JJ McCarthy is best positioned to handle a big personality like OBJ. But, if the alternative is placing hope on borderline starters and mid-round rookies, it could well be in the Vikings’ interests to sign Beckham and hope for the best.
