Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Makes Bold Statement Ahead of Blue Jays’ Game 7 Action

The Toronto Blue Jays are gearing up for a winner-take-all Game 7 matchup in the 2025 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. After their late rally fell short in Game 6 on Friday night, the Blue Jays will look to win their first championship since all the way back in 1993. And as has been the case for much of the postseason, all eyes are going to be on superstar first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

While Toronto has received contributions from up and down its roster throughout the playoffs, Guerrero has been the engine powering them ahead for the most part. Now, he will look to do just that one more time to help lead his squad to a title, and ahead of Game 7, Guerrero made a bold statement with an eye-opening fashion choice that quickly turned heads.

Vladimir Guerrero’s Fashion Statement Turns Heads

The 2025 season has been an interesting one for Guerrero. He entered the year with serious questions about his future in Toronto swirling, thanks to his known desire for a massive new contract. Those questions were put to rest in April, though, as Guerrero committed his future to the Blue Jays by signing a 14-year, $500 million contract extension.

Guerrero turned in another solid campaign, hitting .292 with 23 home runs and 84 RBIs, earning him his fifth-straight All-Star selection. He’s taken his game to another level in the playoffs, though, as he’s hitting .412 with eight home runs and 15 RBIs through 17 games so far. Simply put, without Guerrero, Toronto isn’t playing in the World Series right now.

In order for the Blue Jays to win Game 7, they likely will need a big game from Guerrero. The good news is that the superstar slugger has proven he’s built for these moments, and he’s embracing the big stage on Saturday night. When Guerrero arrived at the Rogers Centre ahead of Game 7, he was sporting a Marie-Philip Poulin jersey, which quickly caught fans’ attention.

“Sources say Vladimir Guerrero was sporting a game-worn Marie-Philip Poulin sweater before Game 7 of the World Series,” Chris Johnston of The Athletic shared in a post on X. “Poulin scored the game-winning goal three times to help Canada capture Olympic gold.”

For those unfamiliar with Poulin, she is the captain of the Canadian women’s national ice hockey team. Poulin has won three Olympic gold medals, and in all three of those wins, she scored the game-winning goal in the gold medal game each time. Poulin has a knack for delivering when the lights are at their brightest, and by wearing this jersey, Guerrero is showing that he intends to deliver for Canada in the same way Poulin has.

It’s not going to be easy, but Toronto has frequently found a way to overcome the odds throughout its postseason run. Max Scherzer will be toeing the mound against Shohei Ohtani in this one, and it’s safe to say that it’s going to be a thrilling battle. First pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, and with everything on the line, you can bet both sides are going to bring their A-game.
