WalesEuro 2025 team bus was involved in a crash as the squad travelled to St Galen ahead of their match on Wednesday against France.

Wales have confirmed that all players and staff on the bus were uninjured after the accident, although an ambulance was called to attend to the driver of another vehicle.

The incident took place close to the national team’s hotel as they made their way to the stadium ahead of their clash with France.

‘The Football Association of Wales can confirm that the Cymru National Team bus has been involved in a road traffic accident whilst travelling to Arena St Gallen for their matchday -1 training session ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 match against France,’ a statement read.

‘All passengers on the Cymru National Team bus and in the other vehicle are unharmed. The FAW’s priority has been to remove the players from the scene and return to the Cymru training base to complete their preparations for tomorrow’s match.’

Wales manager Rhian Wilkinson, who travelled in a separate media vehicle along with captain Angharad James to the pre-match press conference, confirmed that Tuesday’s pre-match training session would be cancelled.

‘I think everyone, from all reports, is OK and we just need to get them all together and get everyone away from the scene to reassess,’ Wilkinson said.

‘More importantly I think the driver of the other vehicle is OK as well. We will let everyone know once we know for sure.’

‘But equally we have a great group and I have been assured that everyone is fine. We have practiced for the unexpected, that’s what we can call this.

‘We will check in with everyone and make sure they are all in a good spot and we can focus on the football again after that.’

Wales, who are making their major tournament debut at Euro 2025, lost their opening game 3-0 to the Netherlands.

Defeat to France tomorrow, who beat England in their opener, could see them knocked out of the tournament.

‘It’s one of those where, it was a real introduction to the Euros and the quality of the opposition [against Netherlands], but I was really pleased with a lot of elements,’ Wilkinson added.

‘But equally, we always want to put on a performance for our fans and we know that there were moments where we could improve, which is what this is all about.

‘We always talk about the next match and this is another opportunity. Everyone always talks about what it means if we don’t get a point but equally it’s about delivering as strong a performance as we can to show Wales just how proud we are to represent our country.’
