The Golden State Warriors have struggled to separate themselves from the rest of the Western Conference. Right now, they sit eighth in the Western Conference standings. Their stats show they are a firmly average basketball team.
The Warriors have the 21st-best offense in the league despite having Stephen Curry on the roster. He still pulls defenders towards him every minute he’s out on the court. Yet, Golden State has the third-best defense in the NBA. It’s clear they need an offensive boost.
One trade proposal from Bleacher Report has the Warriors add an offensive player at the wing spot who can help them boost that sluggish number.

Trade Proposal Sees Warriors Add Solid Offensive Player
Here is the full trade proposal:
Golden State Warriors receive: Michael Porter Jr. and Haywood Highsmith
Brooklyn Nets receive: Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Buddy Hield, 2028 first-round pick (top-five protected), and 2030 first-round pick swap (21-30 protected)
Trading Kuminga would finally get rid of the weird energy he has had with the team since last season. He has completely fallen out of the rotation, so he wouldn’t be missed by the Warriors. In fact, he has been actively hurting the team with him on the court.
Porter Jr. is a massive injury concern, but his upside on offense is undeniable. He is someone who can drill open threes and hit jump shots from anywhere. Adding him would give the Warriors another weapon to carry the offense when Curry and Jimmy Butler aren’t playing well.
Bringing Highsmith in gives them a rotational player who can defend on the perimeter. He is someone who can also hit wide-open threes, which makes him a valuable player to add. Removing Hield would hurt their bench scoring, but bringing in Porter Jr. is better.

Golden State Needs to Add Offensive Help at the Trade Deadline
The Warriors need to do something to fix the offensive issues. Even if they don’t bring in Porter Jr., Golden State needs to have a player come in who can score the ball. Adding some playmaking wouldn’t end up being the worst decision, either.
If Golden State doesn’t add an offensive player who can help with the scoring issues, they aren’t going to have any shot of competing for an NBA championship. The Warriors are desperate to try to add another championship at the end of the Curry era.
Getting a player who can fit next to both Curry and Butler. Someone like Porter Jr., who doesn’t need the ball in his hands to be a successful player, is the ideal player to add. An off-ball scorer is the kind of player that the Warriors need to bring in.
Golden State is a team to watch ahead of the trade deadline. They might be a team that wants to make a move before a flurry of teams decides to crowd the market at the trade deadline.
