January deadline day is finally here, with clubs in the Premier League, EFl and across Europe needing to wrap up their business before the transfer window closes later today.
Arsenal could be one of the teams electing to dip into the market in the finals hours of the window, with the Premier League title-chasers linked with several high-profile strikers, including Ollie Watkins, during the course of the month.
Manchester United completed their first signing of the Ruben Amorim era by finalising a move for Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu on Sunday, and further additions could arrive today to boost the Portuguese’s options with the Red Devils one of a number of teams interested in Bayern Munich winger Mathys Tel.
Sunday’s transfer activity also saw Marcus Rashford finally secure an exit from United, with the England international joining Aston Villa on loan for the rest of the season.
Rashford’s United teammates Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund have also been linked with moves away from Old Trafford, but all three look set to stay put for now.
Manchester City have been amongst the busiest sides this month, signing Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Omar Marmoush, while also loaning Kyle Walker out to AC Milan.
Teams fighting relegation have also worked hard in the transfer market, including Ipswich, who have brought in Jaden Philogene from Aston Villa and two loan signings in Ben Godfrey from Atalanta and Julio Enciso from Brighton.
