Newcastle United will take on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley next month.

The Magpies are in the final for the second time in three years having suffered heartbreak in the capital against Manchester United in 2023.

A thrilling 4-0 aggregate win over Arsenal however has given them another chance to win their first piece of major silverware since 1955.

Jacob Murphy and Anthony Gordon were on the score sheet in the return leg at St James’ Park on Wednesday with any hopes of a Gunners fightback quickly killed off.

Defending champions Liverpool meanwhile came from behind to book their trip Wembley at the expense of Tottenham.

Trailing after a 1-0 defeat in north London, Arne Slot’s side thrashed Spurs 4-0 on the night to reach the final for the second year running.
