Who is Adrian Newey’s wife Amanda Smerczak?

Amanda Amerczar tied the knot with Adrian Newey back in 2017.

She had already had her own taste of fame as her father is South African actor Ron Smerczak.

Despite this, she tends to keep a lot of her personal life private.

Amanda is not Adrian‘s first wife as he has been married two times before.

His first wife was also called Amanda and they had two children together but divorced in 1989.

He then married his second wife Marigold in 1992 and they separated in 2010 after also have two children.

What events have Adrian and Amanda attended together?

Amanda has been seen supporting her husband from the side lines at F1 events.

The pair were seen together at the Miami Grand Prix before she shared an emotional post about him leaving Red Bull.

She posted a snap alongside her husband in front of Max Verstappen‘s car in the Red Bull garage with the caption: “Emotional end of a era. Thank you, @redbullracing. It has been a wild ride with a fantastic team.”

They also went to the Dutch Grand Prix together in 2022 and Silverstone just weeks before as well as Monaco.

Why is Adrian Newey leaving Red Bull?

It was announced on September 10, 2024 that Adrian had signed with Aston Martin after working with Red Bull for 19 years.

He said he was leaving his role as chief technical officer at Red Bull in May after reported breakdown in his relationship with team principal Christian Horner.

Horner was involved in a sexting scandal which he always denied and has since been cleared for misconduct.

Adrian is said to have signed a £20million-a-year contract that reportedly rises to £30m including add-ons and bonuses.

He said: “I am thrilled to be joining Aston Martin. I have been hugely inspired and impressed by the passion and commitment that Lawrence brings to everything he is involved with.

“Lawrence is determined to create a world-beating team. He is the only majority team owner who is actively engaged in the sport.
