Who is Megan Nicholls? ITV presenter and daughter of champion trainer Paul is star of the channel’s racing coverage

FANS of racing have are used to seeing a familiar face in 2024 as part of ITV’s stellar horse racing coverage.

Megan Nicholls has rejoined the likes of Sir AP McCoy, Mick Fitzgerald, Matt Chapman and Kevin Blake on punditry for ITV.

Who is Megan Nicholls?

Megan, the daughter of champion National Hunt trainer Paul Nicholls, has always had an affiliation with horse racing.

She is a former jockey who rode Knappers Hill to victory in the Grade Two bumper at Aintree in 2021.

After a massive 110 career wins, Nicholls decided to retire at the age of 25 to focus on her media work.

She’s now a horse racing pundit for ITV Racing and Racing TV.

Nicholls is also an ambassador for York Racecourse as she helps promote and celebrate women in horse racing.

Who is Megan Nicholls’ dad Paul?

Paul Nicholls is an eleven-time winner of the National Hunt Trainers’ Championship.

He has had over 3,500 winners during his time being a horse trainer, including 49 winners at Cheltenham Festival.

Nicholls has even had a Grand National winning horse in Neptune Collonges back in 2012.

The 62-year-old had a seven-year career as a jockey and rode 133 winners.

In 1986 and 1987 Nicholls won back-to-back Hennessy Gold Cups as a jockey.
