
Wimbledon will be shown on a new TV channel in the UK for 2025 – but the BBC will remain as the principal broadcaster.
Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament on the planet – and is widely regarded as the most prestigious – attracting fans from all over the world.
The BBC have been showing the Championships since 1937 but it won’t be the only UK broadcaster showing the best tennis players on display over the next two weeks.

Where to watch Wimbledon 2025 on TV
The BBC will show live coverage of Wimbledon across the BBC One and BBC Two TV channels in the UK, with further matches available to watch on the BBC iPlayer.
But there’s a new secondary broadcaster, TNT Sports, who will air their own highlights show at the end of each day’s play in addition to the BBC’s own evening highlights show, Today at Wimbledon.

It’s important to note that the BBC will remain the principle broadcaster of Wimbledon and live matches from the famous event will still be free to air.
The Wimbledon singles finals are a Category A event under Ofcom, meaning that live coverage must be made available on free-to-air channels.
Both the BBC and TNT Sports will air the singles finals – meaning viewers will have the option to watch them on either channel.
TNT Sports, which isn’t free and requires a subscription, have taken on the five-year deal that was originally signed by Eurosport in May last year.
Eurosport disappeared from screens in February after TNT Sports absorbed their television rights in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Along with the BBC, the Wimbledon singles finals were previously shown on Eurosport from 2016 onwards.
TNT Sports have currently not signalled any interest in becoming the principal broadcaster of Wimbledon.

What time does the BBC’s Wimbledon TV coverage start each day?
Wimbledon coverage for today (Monday, June 30) will start at 10.30pm on BBC Two.
The BBC coverage will then begin at 11am for the rest of the week, with the exception of Wednesday’s coverage, which starts at 10.45am instead.
The BBC will show live and uninterrupted coverage from the Championships on at least one, and sometimes on both, of it’s TV channels until the evening.
What time does play start each day at Wimbledon?
Play on the outside courts will get underway each day from 11am.
Matches on Centre One will start at 1pm, whilst the action on Centre Court will start at 1.30pm.
How many people watched last year’s Wimbledon finals?

A peak audience of 7.5 million people tuned into BBC One last year to watch Carlos Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic in the men’s singles final.
The match was also also streamed live 1.78 million times on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport online.
The 2024 women’s singles final, in which Barbora Krejcikova defeated Jasmine Paolini, had a peak viewership of 4.1 million on BBC One.
