The quarter-finals of the World Snooker Championship come to an end on Wednesday, with just four players remaining by the close of play.
It is a busy day at the Crucible as one match finishes in the morning session, one in the afternoon and two in the evening as the semi-final line-up is set.
Some games are closer than others after Tuesday’s play, with Mark Williams and John Higgins beautifully poised at 8-8 going into their final session.
Judd Trump threatened to run away with his game against Luca Brecel, but that is pretty tight at 5-3, while Ronnie O’Sullivan leads Si Jiahui 6-2 with two sessions to play.
The contest which looks set to be short on Wednesday is Zhao Xintong against Chris Wakelin, with the Chinese star leading 12-4 in the race to 13.
The match had been pretty close at 6-4 before Zhao reeled off six frames on the spin on Tuesday night to put himself just one away from a first World Championship semi-final.
The quarter-finalists have already guaranteed themselves £50,000, while losing semi-finalists win £100,000, the runner-up gets £200,000 and the champion claims £500,000.
