WWE: Clash in Paris – Three Title Matches, John Cena and Roman Reigns In Action

The world will be watching as WWE’s latest Premium Live Event is an afternoon show for those in the U.S. Nanterre, France is home to Clash in Paris, WWE’s next destination on the road to Survivor Series.

With Wrestlepalooza looming, this is set to be a key show with plenty to dive into. Three championship matches headline a PLE that features a few bitter grudge matches. Both John Cena and Roman Reigns will be wrestling in singles matches.

WWE Clash in Paris Features Just Three Title Matches

It’s quite noteworthy for a WWE PLE to have only half of the matches be for a championship. One of which was added on Friday Night Smackdown as the tag team titles are set to be defended in a rare appearance. Since taking over, Triple H hasn’t put many traditional two-on-two tag title matches on these events.

Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis will represent The Wyatt Sicks as they try to defend their tag team titles for the third time. Their most noteworthy title defense was at Summerslam in a six-team TLC match. The Street Profits will challenge them in a tag team bout for the first time since losing the titles on the July 11 episode of Smackdown.

Nikki Bella’s WWE return hasn’t exactly gone according to plan. She failed to become No. 1 contender at the Evolution Battle Royal. From there, she rebounded with her first singles win since September 10, 2018.

Becky Lynch has been on a tear since returning at WrestleMania. After solving her issues with Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, Lynch now has her sights set on sending Nikki Bella back home for good.

The main event of Clash in Paris has yet to be confirmed, but it’s safe to assume Seth Rollins title defense will go on last. The World Heavyweight Champion shocked the world when he revealed he didn’t actually suffer an injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Rollins now has to deal with the top three challengers on Monday Night Raw. CM Punk, Jey Uso, and LA Knight all have a chance to leave Paris with the title. With Bronson Reed also in singles action, Rollins may have to get the job done all by himself.

John Cena and Roman Reigns Headline the Rest of the Card

Bronson Reed will be busy as he’s tasked with being Roman Reigns first singles opponent since the inaugural RAW on Netflix. That’s correct, Reigns hasn’t been in a one-on-one match since January.

Reigns teamed with Uso to take down Reed and Bron Breakker at Summerslam, the same show where Rollins became World Champion. Now, it’s Reed’s time to put up or shut up as he faces the former 1,316 day World Champion.

A “Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook match” is set to end Sheamus and Rusev’s rivalry. The two have had three singles matches against each other, going 1-1-1 in that span. There’s no chance this one ends in a double countout as Sheamus’s favorite match will be on the PLE. In his career, he’s 2-1 with this stipulation (1-1 in singles matches).

Rumors have begun to swirl around a potential Brock Lesnar appearance in Paris. Should that be the case, WWE may opt to have John Cena vs. Logan Paul be the main event of the show. These two teamed together back at Money in the Bank, but Cena has had quite the change of heart.

Now, one of the final matches of his career is going to be against the part-time influencer. Take nothing away from Paul as he has wins over Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and the one and only Jelly Roll this year.
