With three Divas Championship reigns to her credit, WWE Shop may have spoiled an earth-shattering return. It’s no secret that CM Punk has a trick up his sleeve in Chicago, but that secret has yet to be revealed.
A since deleted social media post from WWE Shop heavily implied who his partner will be. Speculation has run rampant since Becky Lynch joined her husband, Seth Rollins at Clash in Paris, but nothing has been confirmed yet regarding CM Punk’s wife.
WWE Shop Spoils AJ Lee’s Return
Many fans speculated that the image going around social media was AI, however that is not the case. WWE Shop seems to use auto-generated responses, but the image that has been making the rounds is 100% real. In a world where AI and photoshop run wild, things are different this time around.
One fan asked WWE Shop, “Where’s the AJ Lee merch!??! What am I meant to wear on Friday when I watch Smackdown??? Normal clothes?!?!”
Again, WWE has never confirmed that AJ Lee is returning on Friday. The WWE Universe began to speculate as soon as CM Punk was attacked by Becky Lynch in Paris. That moment marked a pivotal next step in the return of the former three-time Divas champion that hasn’t been seen in 10 years.

WWE Shop responded, “Hey there! Of course, we wouldn’t expect that. With AJ Lee’s return to the ring, we are looking to have some fire gear hopefully in time for Wrestlepalooza. Be sure you’re signed up for emails and get the latest updates on new live inventory. Happy shopping!”
Fans Respond to WWE Shop’s Blunder
“Somebody fired,” this fan wrote in response to Fightful Wrestling sharing the image. Just yesterday, Fightful released a full breakdown of the rumored return. Ultimately, WWE is once again doing everything in their power to counter-program AEW.
Wrestlepalooza is special for more reasons than one. It’s the first time WWE is using the name of the event that ECW put on the map. Peacock is no more as this is their first Premium Live Event airing on ESPN. Other than that, it’s going head-to-head with AEW All Out.
With the big announcement clearly not being kept a secret, some fans are upset, “I want to be worked and surprised. I hate it here.” Another fan wrote, “On one hand it kind of sucks how clear it is she’s coming back instead of it being a surprise on the other hand I’m just so happy its finally happening.”
“Welp, the cat’s out of the bag,” someone commented. In a world where social media is so prominent, one slip up can ruin everything. This image will be floating around every platform until the reveal becomes a reality. If it doesn’t, fans will likely end up even more upset.
This fan offered their insight, “These are AI replies from an automated social media tool. A lot of companies are starting to use these now. I’m not saying it isnt confirmation but no one’s getting fired, a human didn’t write this.”
At this point in time, all signs are pointing towards AJ Lee teaming with CM Punk against Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins at Wrestlepalooza.
