A Friday night shooting on East Colfax Avenue in Aurora left one man dead, police said.
Around 8:45 p.m. Friday, Aurora officers responded to reports of a shooting at a business near the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Helena Street, according to a news release from the police department.
The intersection is home to a liquor store, a grocery store and multiple fast-food restaurants and is close to the Whispering Pines apartments.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the release. Police did not identify the victim but said he died from his wounds shortly after arriving at the hospital.
According to the preliminary investigation, the shooting was preceded by an argument and a fight, police said. Police have not identified a suspect and no arrests have been made.

“There is no information at this time about any possible connections to the migrant community or gang activity,” police stated in the release. “The investigation is active and ongoing.”
