About the Cubs’ problems … here’s the one that worries Sun-Times poll voters most

For a winning team, the Cubs have a substantial list of concerns.

Losing Justin Steele for the season was a huge blow to the starting rotation. The bullpen has been a dicey proposition from the get-go. Is there a legit third baseman in the house? And then there’s the whole Kyle Tucker issue. Totally wild concept, but maybe extend the best Cubs player to come along in a decade or longer?

All that was on the table in this week’s ‘‘Polling Place,’’ your home for Sun-Times sports polls on the social platform X.

‘‘The bullpen is the Achilles’ heel of this team,’’ @JeffreyCanalia commented.

‘‘Still feels like they need a lockdown closer,’’ @RonaldVoigt4 offered.

Also, we asked how much of the NBA and Stanley Cup playoffs you’ve been taking in.

‘‘I’ve lost interest in the NBA,’’ @PoliticsFan10 wrote.

The NHL’s poll numbers looked better than the NBA’s, for whatever it’s worth.

‘‘Every [playoff hockey] game is a test of endurance and mental strength,’’ @dman102404 weighed in. ‘‘There’s nothing like it.’’

If only the Blackhawks still were playing, @RealShawFather lamented, adding: ‘‘Everyone wins in Chicago when the Hawks are good.’’

On to the polls:

Poll No. 1: Which concern about the Cubs is highest on your list?

Upshot: How do the Cubs spell relief? H-O-P-E-A-N-D-P-R-A-Y.

Poll No. 2: How often are you watching the NBA playoffs so far?

Upshot: Yeah, well, you’ll rue the day you missed out on the edge-of-your-seat suspense that was Cavaliers 138, Heat 83.

Poll No. 3: How often are you watching the Stanley Cup playoffs so far?

Upshot: They reek of blood and sweat, whistle through missing teeth and don’t even consider grooming their beards. And those are just Blues fans.
