Boy, 14, shot inside Roseland home

A 14-year-old boy was critically wounded in a shooting at a Roseland Home Tuesday night on the Far South Side.

Officers responding to calls of a person shot around 10:35 p.m. found the teen inside a home in the 300 block of West 106th Street, Chicago police said.

He was shot in the head and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where he was in critical condition, police said.

Residents in the neighborhood say the family have lived there for about the year and the boy would occasionally make runs to the store or play football outside.

“It broke my heart,” one 29-year-old resident who didn’t want to be named said. “They take care of everyone.”

No one was in custody.

Area 2 detectives are investigating.
