Brad Pitt Says He’s Focused on Healing and Being Around People Who Truly Care

Brad Pitt is taking a moment to reflect—and it’s coming straight from the heart. Oscar winner, 61, opened up during the F1 premiere in Mexico City on June 9, where he spoke to Entertainment Tonight about life, mistakes, and the people who matter most.

“No matter the mistake, you know, you just learn from it and move on,” Pitt said on the red carpet. “It’ll lead to the next success.”

He added, “Really, I think you get to my age and see how important it is to surround yourself with the people you know, the people you love, the people that love you back. Friends, family, and that’s it. From there, we get to go make things. It’s a pretty simple, I think, equation.”

Brad Pitt Says He’s Found Peace Despite Decades in the Headlines

Pitt’s words come weeks after he reflected on fame in a candid GQ interview, where he admitted his personal life has been under constant scrutiny.

“My personal life is always in the news,” he told the outlet. “It’s been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let’s put it that way.”

When asked if working on F1 and driving high-speed cars provided a break from all the public attention, Pitt said no.

“Um, I don’t see it that way,” he explained. “It’s been an annoyance I’ve had to always deal with in different degrees, large and small, as I do the things I really want to do.”

Still, Pitt said he’s found peace. “My life is fairly contained. It feels pretty warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am… it’s like this fly buzzing around a little bit.”

“Brad is happy that the divorce is behind him. Things are low-key for the family,” a source told PEOPLE in March. “He’s happy with his girlfriend… They’re in a great place. Life’s good, no complaints.”

Pitt and Jolie share six children and were declared legally single in 2019 after their 2016 split.

Pitt stars in F1, Apple Original Films’ high-octane racing movie set to hit theaters June 27 — just in time for the Austrian Grand Prix.

The film also stars Damson Idris and was co-produced by real-life F1 legend Lewis Hamilton.
