The second weekend of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival didn’t sell out, which means it didn’t exactly hit the 125,000 people capacity that the Empire Polo Club in Indio did last week. However, there was still a cluster of spaces full of people making their way around the festival. Whether they were waiting in line for food, the bathroom, walking in or out of the festival, or just making their way from one stage to another, our team was listening.
Here’s everything we overheard from fans during weekend two of Coachella.
In between the Gobi and Mojave tents: “We need to go.” “Go where?” “To see The Go-Gos?” “What?” We need to go see The Go-Gos!” “OK, but wait, who are The Go-Gos?”
While trying to get into the Mojave tent: “Just duck in and roll with it.”
At the DoLab: “The sun hit me just right when they took my picture and everyone went crazy.”
In the line for the bathroom: “There’s a lot I would do for my sister. Going into the Porta Potty with her isn’t one of them.”
Walking to the parking lot: “Wait up! We’re not wearing shoes.” “Then wear shoes!”
In the crowd at the Coachella Stage: “I don’t know, I think Gaga is getting too meta for me.”
DoLab’s backstage: “Is this alcohol free water?”
Outside of Absolut’s activation tent: “Absolut? ABSOLUTELY not.”
In the line for food: “Bratchella! Brat Con! Brat Summer always!”
Outside the festival gates: “Anyone selling wristbands? I could take it off of you?”
In the parking lot: “Do you know that Red Bull sponsored Coachella? Well, I wore the Red Bull jersey, so I’m hoping they will sponsor me. Like, c’mon, I’m wearing THE jersey, you know?”
DoLab’s backstage: “I respect you for drinking PBR. It’s too heavy for me, so I drink White Claw. But if they had Bud Lite, I’d rock that.”
