The NFC East rivalry between Washington and Dallas will be renewed in Week 7. The Commanders enter the game at 3-3 after a close loss to Chicago, while the Cowboys sit at 2-3-1 following a tough defeat in Carolina. Both teams are dealing with defensive issues that have cost them in recent weeks, setting up a high-scoring matchup in Dallas.
Commanders at Cowboys: Odds and Betting Preview
Washington opened as a 2.5-point road favorite, and the line has held, per DraftKings as of Thursday, October 16. The total has risen from 52.5 to 54.5 points, reflecting the expectation of a high-scoring game. Both teams struggled badly against the run in Week 6. Dallas allowed former Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle to rack up 183 rushing yards and 56 receiving yards in a 30-27 loss to Carolina. He averaged 6.1 yards per carry.
Washington’s defense was just as vulnerable in a 25-24 loss to Chicago. The Commanders allowed 6.5 yards per play, including 108 rushing yards to D’Andre Swift on only 14 carries. Both defenses have been inconsistent against the run and explosive plays, which is a major reason why oddsmakers expect points on the board.

In Week 6, Washington QB Jayden Daniels completed 19 of 26 passes for 211 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He also added 52 rushing yards on 10 carries. Through four games, Daniels has thrown for 875 yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception while being sacked 11 times. His ability to extend plays with his legs will be key against Dallas’ pass rush.
Dak Prescott is coming off a strong performance in Dallas’ loss to Carolina. He completed 25 of 34 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. For the season, Prescott has thrown for 1,617 yards, 13 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He has been sacked just seven times in six games and is completing over 70 percent of his passes. Prescott’s efficiency has been a bright spot for Dallas despite the team’s struggles.
