
SANTA CLARITA — One person, reportedly an off-duty LAPD officer, was killed in a fiery crash Saturday morning, Nov. 8, in Santa Clarita.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were called at 2:15 a.m. to Cinema Drive and Bouquet Canyon Road where they found the vehicle engulfed in flames, a Santa Clarita Valley Station watch commander told City News Service.
Video footage showed the vehicle sustained substantial damage and was destroyed in the fire.
KTLA was reporting that the person killed was an off-duty LAPD officer.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel.
According to a witness at the scene, a woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after she drove the perimeter of the crash, but deputies could not confirm that account.
Deputies remained at the scene for several hours investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, LASD authorities said.
