Ellen DeGeneres has left her bleach blonde locks behind and embraced a bold new look which she flashed to fans in early May 2025. The former talk show host has been a brunette for the last few months, and gave a glimpse of her switched-up style!
The formerly platinum entertainer revealed her new brunette color as she drove a lawn mower through a field in what appeared to be the English countryside. Only the back and side profile of her head could be seen in the video clip, which she captioned, “Portia thought it would be fun to film my first time on a lawn mower. She was right.”
DeGeneres humorously overlaid the footage with the words “How it started” and “How it ended.” The video finished with the comedian being pushed on the mower.
She complemented her new hairstyle with a practical, low key ensemble to work her land, pairing slim fit jeans with a gray sweater and olive green waterproof boots.
Ellen Showed Herself Landscaping in England
Degeneres, who the Independent says relocated from Los Angeles to the area of the U.K. countryside known as the Cotswolds in late 2024, wasn’t done working on her new property after the lawn mowing episode. A few days later, she shared a clip of herself outdoors in the sun clipping flowery bushes, before trimming grass with a handheld tool.
The 67-year-old joked in the caption, “Some people have a dream of becoming a farmer,” before adding, “Clearly our dream was to become a landscape maintenance crew with a little farming on the side.”
With a reported net worth of around $450 million, according to People, DeGeneres can surely afford to hire a landscaping team, but she seems to have made a hobby of transforming her farmland.
In the same video, the famous former vegan threw grain to a group of five chickens.

Fans hoping to follow DeGeneres’ new life in England with her wife, Portia DeRossi, won’t get any help from the retired actress known for appearing in “Ally McBeal.” DeRossi hasn’t posted anything on Instagram since sharing a clip of her wife doing an arm workout in January 2024.
DeRossi took the moment to wish the comedian a happy 66th birthday. “This is what your 66 looks like,” she declared as DeGeneres showed off impressive gym moves.
She doesn’t appear to be currently active on any social media platforms.
