This Morning viewers have made it clear they aren’t impressed after Cat Deely presented the show while sick.

On Tuesday’s episode of the ITV breakfast programme, the host admitted she wasn’t feeling too well.

During Lorraine Kelly’s cross to Cat, 47, and her co-host Ben Shephard, 49, before This Morning began, he said she had ‘a bit of a heavy cold’, after which Cat said she wasn’t feeling up to scratch.

Then, just over an hour into the show during a medical segment about antidepressants, Cat could heard having a coughing fit off camera.

Soon after she jumped up and ran off screen, with Ben explaining: ‘I think Cat is having to sneak out because she is about to having a coughing fit. We’ve got doctors here, we’re alright!’

Checking in to see if Cat was alright, Doctor Tony Kendric then said he’d lost his train of thought momentarily before continuing.

However, those watching on at home said she should have called in sick, with one writing on X it sounded like she was ‘coughing up a lung’.

‘Why did Cat go in with a cold spreading it around,’ viewer Victoria posted.

‘Surely Cat should of called in sick…?’ CelestialTeal shared.

Meanwhile user BoppityBoo34 said someone should get her some syrup while others were also more sympathetic.

‘Hope Cat’s ok. I’ve had coughing fits like that & they’re not fun,’ Estella wrote.

Cat later returned to the studio where Ben asked if she had recovered to which she shared her eye was running and she was sucking a Strepsil to prevent any further coughing.

‘That’ll sort you out!’ Ben exclaimed before they introduced their next guest.

The incident came a few weeks after Cat apologised after coming under fire for appearing to make light of epilepsy.

She was criticised by viewers and charities after comparing her dancing to a ‘seizure’ on the show.

The next day she apologised for her choice of language and said she never intended to ‘offend everyone.’

Minutes after This Morning started, Cat looked forlorn and said: ‘First of all I want to apologise to anyone who was offended yesterday after I made a light-hearted comment about my dancing style.

‘It really wasn’t supposed to cause any upset to anybody, but I can see why that might have been the case, so I do apologise and I’m very sorry.’

Jumping in, Ben said: ‘That would never be our intention, would it.’

Cat continued: ‘It didn’t come from that place at all.’

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
