Mikel Arteta is hopeful Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Magalhaes will be available for Arsenal’s Premier League showdown against Manchester City on Sunday.
The Gunners sit top of the league with just a single point separating them, Liverpool and City with 10 games of the season left.
Saka was selected for the England squad ahead of friendlies against Brazil and Belgium but withdrew from the group and returned to his club last week.
The Gunners star has trained away from the first-team, managing an achilles injury and a minor muscle problem.
He has been an injury doubt ahead of the trip to Manchester this weekend, along with Martinelli who has recovered from a foot injury.
His compatriot Gabriel Magalhaes meanwhile also withdrew from the Brazil squad ahead of that game against England but his injury was not thought to be serious, viewed as a precautionary measure.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Arteta offered an update on the trio.

‘There is a chance [they can play],’ Arteta said.
‘They haven’t trained. Tomorrow we have another session so there is a chance that they can be available.’

Martinelli suffered a foot injury in the 6-0 thrashing of Sheffield United earlier in March but was replaced in the second-half of that game after suffering a cut on his foot.
He missed the win over Brentford in Arsenal’s last game before the international break and was also not involved in Brazil’s friendly games against England and Spain.
City meanwhile will be without key defenders Kyle Walker and John Stones for Sunday’s game.
