Hollywood actress Kate Winslet has revealed that she and her family donât watch her iconic Christmas film âThe Holidayâ over the festive period. The news comes as Winsletâs latest film, âGoodbye June,â is set to release, with the new Netflix Christmas movie being written by her son Joe Anders and features Winslet making her directorial debut.Â
Kate Winslet Explains Why She Hates Watching Herself in Movies
While speaking in an interview with BBC News to promote âGoodbye June,â Winslet was asked about what other holiday-themed films she will be watching with her family, which includes daughter Mia Threapleton. This led to a question asking directly about âThe Holiday,â leading to the admission from the actress that neither she nor her relatives will be watching the movie.
“No, we haven’t seen The Holiday for years,” she said: “We don’t sit down and watch films I’m in. I barely do.”
The reason behind Winslet purposely avoiding âThe Holidayâ comes down to the fact that she simply does not enjoy watching herself performing on screen. This is something that she believes is common among actors, who donât want to see themselves acting.
“You know, almost everything I’ve been in I’ve only seen once,” Winslet explained. “When you watch the finished product, for most actors, that’s an excruciating experience. It’s something you kind of have to go through.â
Reese Witherspoon Dismisses Kate Winslet Feud Claims
Earlier this year, Reese Witherspoon addressed rumors that she was in a feud with Winslet. Rumors about the apparent enmity between the two actresses arose after Witherspoon told Will Ferrell in a video posted online that she was no longer friends with a colleague after a botched speech at an awards ceremony.
However, Witherspoon took to social media in February to deny there was any disagreement between the pair and even suggested that they remained close friends after years of friendship.
âHey guys .. just spoke to my very dear friend for years, Kate W. We laughed about this stupidity. Please do not believe the internet,â Witherspoon wrote. âWe are good friends and have never had any falling out.â
On another slide in the Instagram story, Witherspoon wrote, âThis is completely UNTRUE â¦so silly!â on top of several headlines about the supposed feud.Â
Winslet hasnât commented on the reports but it seems unlikely that Witherspoon would make such a big deal of denying the rumors if they were true.
