Which Bears second-round pick has your hopes highest?

You know who probably was a big fan of the Bears’ trio of second-round draft picks?

Pope Leo XIV.

OK, fine, that was just a shameless attempt to invoke the new pope in yet another Sun-Times story. Look, all the cool kids are doing it.

In this week’s “Polling Place,” your home for Sun-Times sports polls on the social platform X, we asked which Bears second-rounder your highest hopes are pinned on: wide receiver Luther Burden III, tackle Ozzy Trapilo or defensive lineman Shemar Turner?

“I gotta go with Trapilo on this one,” @BTU_Larry commented. “Especially if he’s in at left tackle, his success will enhance Caleb Williams’ chance at taking that Year 2 step.”

Next, we asked which Sky player — Kamilla Cardoso, Angel Reese or Courtney Vandersloot — holds the biggest key to the season.

Last, we asked which center fielder has the higher ceiling, the Cubs’ Pete Crow-Armstrong or the White Sox’ Luis Robert Jr.?

“Crow-Armstrong has spunk and plays hard every day,” @tom_horseplayer wrote. “Robert is a player with talent when he wants to show up.”

On to the polls:

Poll No. 1: As Bears rookie minicamp gets underway, for which second-round draft pick do you have the highest hopes?

Upshot: Burden is a major talent who’s bound and determined to make other NFL teams regret not drafting him in the first round. But will he ascend into a role worthy of this lopsided vote? That, we shall see.

Poll No. 2: Which player holds the biggest key to the Sky’s upcoming season?

Upshot: Reese has looked like a markedly improved player in the preseason. If she proves to be just that, she’ll be the Sky’s No. 1 star off and on the court — no more questions about it.

Poll No. 3: Which center fielder has the higher ceiling?

Upshot: It’s PCA’s world. Man, must be nice.
